Frequently Asked Questions about the hyphenatorOther Frequently Asked Questions Q1. When I use manual hyphenation to hyphenate "patatesler" as "pata-tesler", the spell checker recognizes the word as split into two and flags both words. What's wrong? A1. This was a bug that affects versions less than 4.13 and it only affects manually hyphenated words. Please download the latest version and reinstall the tools. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Q2. Under automatic hyphenation, Word only hyphenates some lines and leave other lines unhyphenated. The result looks ugly. A2. Microsoft Word uses a large number of heuristics to identify when the words have to hyphenated. Sometimes these heuristics do not work properly. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do. Most of these problems are corrected in the latest builds of Microsoft Word and Office 2000. You can either upgrade or you can use manual hyphenation. Q3. I have Office 2000 beta and the hyphenator sometimes provides incomplete hyphenation. For example try: "adamlar". The correct hyphenation should be "a-dam-lar" not "adam-lar" A3. This bug only affects Office 2000 beta (build >2726). It has been corrected recently. Please download the latest version of our proofing tools as well. |
